Donato (Don) Pasquini, P.Eng. – President

Don is one of the founding partners of Pasquini & Associates. Don has over 25 years of experience in land development and municipal engineering. This includes project coordination and management, subdivision planning, stormwater management modeling, conceptual and detailed design, scheduling, and budget preparation. Through his career Don has managed residential and industrial subdivision projects in Calgary and other municipalities in Alberta. He combines this experience with proven leadership and team building skills across a diverse range of projects. Don developed his stormwater management knowledge while working at JNMackenzie Engineering in the early 1990’s. In 1992 he joined D.A. Watt Consulting (now Watt Consulting Group) where he spent the next 13 years learning the municipal engineering and land development industry. During his time at D.A. Watt, Don went from an engineer-in-training to a principal of the company, managing the engineering services group. In 2005 Don joined UMA/AECOM (now AECOM) and was soon appointed Regional Manager of Land Development. During his 5 year tenure he increased his managerial and business knowledge. By the end of the decade a lot of change on the consulting side of Calgary’s land development industry had taken place. Smaller firms were disappearing and with it the ‘personal touch’ that clients were looking for. With this mandate Don and the other partners decided to open their business in the spring of 2010.

Antonio (Tony) Pasquini P.Eng. – Vice President

Tony is a professional engineer with over 25 years of consulting experience in stormwater management and land development engineering. For the first 10 years of his career, Tony specialized in stormwater management applying his knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics and computer modeling to water resource projects and urban drainage. He has written numerous stormwater management studies which have been approved for water resources and land development projects. Tony also provided technical input into the design of stormwater management infrastructure such as retention ponds, sewers and outfalls. In 1998 Tony joined Sunbow Consulting Ltd. where he worked as a senior engineer on land development projects from the initial project planning stage to detailed design of underground utilities and surface improvements. Tony’s strength as a project lead was effective in procuring timely approvals of construction drawings. Tony would go on to become a partner at Sunbow which was acquired by Focus Corporation in 2006. In 2008, Tony was promoted to Land Development Manager at Focus. In that role, Tony was responsible for overseeing the engineering and field services operations of the southeast Calgary Focus office in addition to business development and client relationships. From 2010 to 2011 Tony was employed with City of Calgary, Urban Development Division as Development Agreement Team Leader. Tony was instrumental in facilitating the closing of hundreds of backlogged Development Agreement files through mediation between City Business Units and the development industry. His industry experience was also utilized in improving internal City processes, mentoring junior staff and providing internal feedback on external perspectives and interests. Tony also developed a thorough understanding of the Development Agreement process, Special Clauses, and other components associated with land development. Tony joined Pasquini & Associates in January 2012.

Randy Langille, R.E.T. – Principal

Randy is also one of the founding partners of Pasquini & Associates. Randy has over 30 years’ experience in the land development industry. His experience includes construction and maintenance of several land development projects in Calgary and the surrounding area. Randy’s previous experience has been with various stakeholders in many facets of the land development industry such as Atco Development, LaVida Communities, and High Altitude Land Designs. Early in his career he also worked on the developer side with Genstar, and on the contractor side with Standard General. In 1991 Randy joined Manray Consulting and followed the transformation to AECOM. In 2010 he also joined Don to form Pasquini & Associates. Coordination of projects, preparing cost estimates, budget calculations, contract administration and progress claims are some of the skills Randy has developed over his career.

Andrew Roop, ALS, BCLS – Principal

Andrew is one of Pasquini & Associates Geomatics founding partners. Andrew has over 20 years of experience in the land survey business, and in the past 12 years his experience has been in the land development industry in Alberta and BC. Andrew obtained his ALS commission in 2003, and his BCLS commission in 2009. Andrew has gained extensive experience managing legal surveys for projects of all sizes from his time with The Focus Corporation, Raymac Surveys Ltd., Global Raymac Surveys Inc., and most recently his own company, Roop Geomatics Inc. His knowledge includes surveys for large multi-phased subdivisions (residential, commercial and industrial), condominiums (bareland and building), road plans, rights-of-way surveys, rural subdivisions, and small infill subdivisions. Andrew also has a strong understanding of legal documents and their impact on the subdivision of land.
